Croí AED Finder lists over 100 AEDs in the Galway region and can be used to locate the nearest AED to you. It also features a metronome that beats at 100 beats per minute, the rate of optimal CPR compression, which can be used to aid in the delivery of CPR.

Background:
Sudden cardiac arrest is the single most prevalent cause of premature death in adults. Approximately 5,000 deaths are attributed to sudden cardiac arrest in Ireland each year.
Automatic external defibrillators (AED) are used to treat sudden cardiac arrests. An AED is a portable device that can be operated by first responders. It checks the heart rhythm and can send an electric shock to the heart to try to restore a normal rhythm.

Note: Croí have endeavored to insure that the details of all AEDs listed in this app are accurate and that the app is functional and reliable. However, Croí does not take responsibility should the app fail to function or any information in the app is inaccurate.

This app is provided for free by Croí, the West of Ireland Cardiac Foundation.
Its development was funded by both Croí and the NUI Galway EXPLORE initiative.

Croí AED Finder was developed and designed by James Treanor and Michael McNamara.
